NORTHEAST KINGDOM DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

Building stronger communities in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.

Bringing Projects
to Life

Business expansion in the NEK often requires development and financing tools that individual companies cannot access alone.

NEKDC partners with local businesses and organizations to develop the infrastructure they need to grow.

The result: Stronger businesses and a stronger regional economy.

What We Do

As a not-for-profit commercial real estate developer, we bridge the gap between public funding and private enterprise.

Project Management

Coordinating partners, financing, and approvals to move expansion projects from concept to completion.

Public + Private Capital

Structuring projects that combine private investment with grants, tax credits, and other public funding tools.

Acquisition + Development

Purchasing property and overseeing
the construction or renovation of project facilities.

Short-term Asset Ownership

Holding property during development until the business is ready to assume ownership.

Success Stories

The project includes the adaptive reuse of the historic Yellow Barn, and the construction of a new facility. Together these buildings now provide state-of-the-art facilities to Jasper Hill Farm, Cabot Creamery, and the Center for an Agricultural Economy.
